Live Learn Hoops Brgy. QC (LLH) finally broke through in the Akari U16 Girls’ Basketball Invitational, securing a 39-28 win over Miriam College on Wednesday at the 3rd Fitness Lab.
Clarissa Batoon led the charge with 17 points, six steals, and four assists, while Princess Cunanan came close to a rare quadruple-double with 13 points, 10 steals, seven rebounds, and seven assists to fuel LLH’s first victory of the tournament.
After a tightly contested third quarter, LLH pulled away with a decisive 13-0 run that left Miriam scrambling to keep pace.
Despite the efforts of Adrianna Membrere and team captain Miren Molina, who scored 10 and nine points respectively, Miriam College fell short and dropped to 0-3 in the standings.
