Adamson University Baby Falcons continued its unbeaten run in the UAAP Season 88 girls’ volleyball tournament after sweeping De La Salle Santiago Zobel Junior Lady Spikers, 25-20, 25-17, 25-16, on Wednesday at the Paco Arena.
Team captain Ella Gonzalvo led the Baby Falcons with 14 points built on 13 attacks and one ace, while Kristal Joy Martin chipped in 11 markers. Francheska Adem and Seanne Ordonio added 10 and five points, respectively, as Adamson improved its record to 5–0.
Setter Elaine Garces also made her presence felt on both ends with 12 excellent sets, while team captain and libero Maegan Pineda recorded nine digs and six excellent receptions.
For DLSZ, Aislinn Alemana and Jelliane Laborite led with 12 and 4 points, respectively, but the Junior Lady Spikers struggled to sustain their momentum, dropping to 3–2 in the tournament.
The Baby Falcons displayed dominance on offense, scoring 40 attack points compared to DLSZ’s 26, and controlling the pace through consistent serving and solid floor defense.
Adamson will look to extend its winning streak in its next match against the University of the East on Sunday, October 12, 1pm at the Blue Eagle Gym.
