The Adamson Lady Falcons kept their streak alive, breezing past the Mapua University Lady Cardinals, 25-15, 25-23, 25-11, to clinch a spot in the 2025 V League Collegiate Challenge semifinals yesterday at the Paco Arena.
Playmaker Fhei Sagaysay orchestrated the offense with 20 excellent sets while also contributing three points of her own. Team captain Shaina Nitura spearheaded the attack with 18 points on 16 kills and two blocks, while rookie Abegail Segui chipped in 12 markers in the straight-sets win.
Adamson had to dig deep in the second frame after falling behind by five points early. Still trailing 21-23, the Lady Falcons came through when it mattered most, unleashing a 4-0 finishing kick fueled by three hits from Mordi and an error from Freighanne Garcia to escape with the set and take a commanding two-set advantage.
That momentum carried over into the third, where Nitura delivered from the back row and Red Bascon fired a down-the-line kill to spark a 16-6 run that gave Adamson complete control.
Segui then took over late, mixing up her attacks with a crosscourt shot, an offspeed ball, and a quick play before sealing the sweep with another crosscourt hit—locking up Adamson’s semifinal berth while preserving its perfect 5-0 record.
Last Saturday, Adamson also swept the Arellano University Lady Chiefs. It was another day at the office for Nitura as she tallied 21 points, 10 digs, and nine excellent receptions in their fourth consecutive victory.
The Lady Falcons now sit firmly on top of the standings and will look to extend their unbeaten run when they face the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Lady Knights on Wednesday, September 3, at 12 noon, still at the Paco Arena.
