Bouncing back from a tough loss to PLDT last Saturday, the Nxled Chameleons swept the Farm Fresh Foxies, 25-13, 25-16, 25-14, in the PVL On Tour at the USJ-R Coliseum in Cebu City yesterday.

With their fourth win in five games in Pool A, the Chameleons clinched a historic milestone—securing their first-ever quarterfinals berth since joining the PVL.

EJ Laure-Carino led the charge with 19 points built on 16 attacks, two aces, and a block. Team captain Chiara Permentilla added 10 points along with seven excellent digs, while Jovelyn Fernandez chipped in eight points and six digs of her own.

Leading two sets to none, the Chameleons came out firing in Set 3, with Jaja Maraguinot sparking a 4-0 run with back-to-back service aces.

Nxled capitalized on Farm Fresh’s shaky reception, with Carino, Permentilla, and Fernandez taking turns on offense to pull away for good and close out the sweep in dominant fashion.

On the other side, Trisha Tubu was the lone bright spot for the Foxies, scoring 12 points from 10 attacks and two blocks. Jolina Dela Cruz and Rizza Cruz were held to just five points apiece.

With the victory, Nxled is now guaranteed to at least match its best PVL finish of eighth place from the 2024 All-Filipino Conference. The team now awaits its next opponent in the quarterfinals set for the second week of August.
