The Akari Chargers went winless against the Cignal HD Spikers and the Creamline Cool Smashers in the opening leg of the Premier Volleyball League on Tour held at the Chavit Coliseum in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur last weekend.
In their first outing, Akari fell to Cignal in straight sets, 23-25, 14-25, 23-25.
The new-look Chargers—now without former team captain Michelle Cobb, who has transitioned to a role as assistant team manager and setting coach—struggled to find their rhythm against the revamped HD Spikers.
Gretchel Soltones led Akari with 12 points, while Eli Soyud chipped in 11 in the losing effort.
In their second game against the mighty Creamline Cool Smashers, the Chargers put up a stronger fight despite the 1–3 loss.

Akari pushed Creamline to four sets, 25–27, 25–22, 19–25, 18–25, with improved rhythm and sharper execution in the second frame. Four Creamline players reached double figures, while Akari countered with solid contributions.
Soltones once again led the charge with a game‑high 18 points on 17 kills, while Celine Domingo, facing her former team, added 12 points.
