The Akari Chargers and Nxled Chameleons bolstered their rosters in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Draft held last Sunday, June 8, at the Novotel Manila.

Akari entered the draft under new leadership, with veteran setter-turned-coach Tina Salak taking over from Taka Minowa, who led the team to a bronze finish in the recent PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Joining her on the bench are Far Eastern University Men’s Volleyball Team head coach Eddieson Orcullo, and former team captain and setter Mich Cobb who now serves as a setting coach and assistant team manager.

With the seventh overall pick, Salak selected one of her former players from Far Eastern University, outside hitter Chenie Tagaod.

She also added promising middle blocker Jamaica Villena from Emilio Aguinaldo College and outside hitter Joan Doguna from Lyceum of the Philippines University in the second and third round, respectively.

Fresh off a bronze medal finish in the last All-Filipino Conference, the Chargers are reloaded with exciting new additions as they look to have a better finish as the new PVL season kicks off with the PVL on Tour this June 22.
