Prized rookie Shaina Nitura shattered another record in the UAAP as she tallied 38 points in the sorry loss to UP, surpassing Alyssa Valdez’ 35.
Earlier this season, Nitura also set a new rookie-scoring record with 33 points against the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles.

On the other hand, Nina Ytang led the Fighting Maroons with 20 points built from 15 attacks, three blocks, and two aces, while Irah Jaboneta contributed 19 points, 12 excellent digs, and 10 excellent receptions.
Joan Monares and rookie Kianne Olango added 15 points each to help UP improve to 3-5.
The Lady Falcons now sit at #6 in the standings, and they will try to turn things around in the second round as they aim to make push for a slot in the Final Four.
AdU opens the second round against the University of the East (UE) Lady Warriors on March 22, Saturday at the MOA Arena at 2pm.
