Ravena, Barroga out versus Petro Gazz

Coach Jorge De Brito makes his first major roster moves of the tournament against Petro Gazz as he moved two players to the reserve list ahead of the matchup Saturday at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

De Brito relegated starting libero Dani Ravena and top reserve Gyra Barroga to the sidelines in lieu of Rachel Jorvina and Andrea Marzan, who is making her first appearance in the tournament for Akari.

With the move, the Chargers are expected to start either Jorvina or Bingle Landicho as the team’s top defensive specialist.

Meanwhile, Ravena, who has been Akari’s main libero in the PVL, sits for the first time.

The absence of Barroga, who has been used in both outside and opposite positions by De Brito, means the Chargers will lean on Jho Maraguinot, Trisha Genesis or Lycha Ebon as chief backups to starters Janine Marciano and Erika Raagas.
